Bye Bye Kenneth Village

The Bloodhound EPs

From the summer of 2025 until March 2026, I had been going through the longest bout of writer's block I had ever experienced. Between my job, being a father to a 2 year old, and all of life's other responsibilities, it felt impossible to find the time, the energy, or the inspiration (or just plain musical creativity) to write more than three decent songs for the fifth TCW album, and I was becoming nervous that maybe I didn't have it in me anymore. Then, at some point late in March, I had the idea that I would take a break from trying to force songs for V, and instead I'd work on something smaller - more attainable. I decided to revive the Bloodhound storyline and release songs that tell that journey over the course of multiple EPs that could eventually be compiled into something the size of a double album once they've all been released (taking inspiration from The Dear Hunter's The Color Spectrum). Once I began working on that, everything started to flow and this EP was written and recorded in less than three months time.
Bye Bye Kenneth Village is the first in this series of nine EPs set throughout 1979 - following main character John “Bloodhound” Caselli, an 18 year old, leaving home on his birthday, heading to Hollywood with a band he builds along the way.
The Bloodhound EPs are, in a way, a continuation of my conceptual blues-based prog rock project from 2013. While the original project eventually fizzled out, the story will continue through these releases. In keeping with the tone of the story, the music on these EPs leans a bit more into blues-based rock influences, though it still fits naturally alongside the rest of the TCW catalog.
Since it all exists in the Burdale Universe you may run into some familiar characters and places along the way.
