IV: Timber
2024
Originally written in 2017 with plans to be the follow up to Bloodhound's Caution K9, huge musical, lyrical, and story portions of IV: Timber were reworked and rewritten throughout 2023 to make it definitively The Circle Of Wonders. IV: Timber was initially planned to release alongside III: The Sparrow & The Architect, but in 2023 anticipating the upcoming birth of his son, Cody felt it was best to shift focus to III to insure at least one album was released that year. Flash forward to Fall 2024 - less than a year after III: The Sparrow & The Architect was released - IV: Timber was finally completed and was made available to stream on October 21, the month and day the story takes place.

The album tells the story of Grizzly Hollow, Oregon native Benjamin Timberton (aka Timber) and his drunken struggle to find solace after the Vietnam War death of his best and closest friend Brett Godfrey. Unintentionally finding his way into The Town Of Burdale, Timber encounters Birdie (cynically referred to by the townsfolk as The Witch or sometimes The Witch Lady). Upon hearing Timber's sad tale, The Witch convinces him his only way out of the suffering is to end his own life - and she gives him the place and the means to do it.

Meanwhile, Timber's wife Ashley once again awakes in their bed alone. Heartbroken, she decides she's tired of waking up night after night to an empty bed, not knowing where Timber is or if he's okay, so she goes out in search of her missing lover.

IV: Timber features, for the first time in an album by The Circle Of Wonders, backing vocalists to represent specific characters within the story - Lana Saykali representing The Witch on Inciting Incident I: Song Of Sorrow, The Key, and A Lover's Pursuit III: The Witch & The Widow, and Jasmin Corrine representing Ashley Timberton on A Lover's Pursuit I - IV, and My Dear (Fall Of The Redwood). Jasmin also represents Jessica Newman, who is a voice/vision featured in the songs Visions Of The Dead, and Sickness. Jessica Newman is a character who first appears in the story for POET by Bloodhound. In addition to helping represent these characters in song, Jasmin also acted as Ashley in various interludes heard in between songs. Lastly, her voice can be heard in various other tracks where she, among others, provided background ooohs and aaahs.
