Explore

The Town Of Burdale has an abundance of exploration opportunities - everything from the lush forests of Hale Forest Park, to the Nature Museum and Observation Tower atop Specter Ridge. There's plenty to experience, and you may just find a mystery or two along the way!

Recreation/Senior Services/Community Services

Burdale offers many recreation opportunities - at our four municipal parks, you can enjoy a variety of playgrounds, swim classes, picnic area options, not to mention basketball and horseshoes! At Spellbind Park you'll find our Senior Recreation facility - here, seniors ages 65+ can enjoy all sorts of activities, from billiards to Mah-Jongg!

Emergency Services

Burdale offers a wide array of emergency services - Is your Oddity Shop on fire? Is one of the town's many stray cats stuck in a tree? The Burdale Volunteer Fire Department is on it. Is there a prowler outside of your window? Are you seeing a mysterious man with a trenchcoat floating down Birdview Street? Sheriff Glenn Bank and the Never County Sheriff's Department are here to help.

Water & Power

Burdale was once known for being a coal mining town, but over the decades we've aligned with the times and are relying on nuclear energy. That's right, Burdale is home to the country's smallest nuclear power plant. Tucked in the southwest corner between Mt. West and Conjure Mountain, the Burdale Power Plant, or just "The Plant" as Burdaliens refer to it, employs three dozen employees and powers over 680 homes and businesses.

Historical Association

Learn about the history of Burdale at The Burdale Historical Association Museum. The Burdale Historical Association is a non-profit organization whose goal is to preserve the history of our great town. Learn about everything from the first settlers and coal miners, to the Conjure Quake Event, and beyond!

Nightlife

Come down and grab a drink at The Burdale Bar! Or catch a flick at Skin/Walker Cineplex & Drive-In. Did you know Beam-Me-Up Burger has the best milkshakes in the galaxy? Are you tough enough to face The Mothman's Flight roller coaster at the Spectral Spectacles amusement park? No matter the excitement or adventure you're interested in, Burdale has got you covered.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU FROM MAYOR TRIPP:

October 25, 2024
To our beautiful Burdaliens,
When I was a young kiddo hundreds of years ago (or at least, that's what it feels like), I would anxiously wait and wait for this time of year to arrive - not because of Halloween candy, but because I was always so excited for our town's wonderful Wild-Nights Arts Festival. I can't thank each and every one of you enough for making this year's festival such a massive success. Our wonderful vendors made record profits, and my office has received incredible feedback from many of you, telling us what you all thought about the event. Thank you all for joining us, and thank you to our vendors for keeping us all fed, entertained, and dazzled by the amazing creativity that was on display and for sale. I also want to thank our fantastic sponsors for their support. This festival is such a huge part of our town's culture and identity, so it's so moving to see everyone come together to share in this celebration every year. It's only a matter of time before The Wildwood Man himself joins in on the fun!

Now, back when I was a kid the festival lasted the entire encompassing week of October 21st. Today, I'm ecstatic to announce that we will be returning to that festival format next year for the 2025 Wild-Nights Arts Festival, and for all subsequent festivals for the years to come. I cannot wait to share what the town's event coordinators have in store for you. Until then, thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
Yours truly,
Mayor Samuel Tripp Loch
